When it comes to booking a Zion resort, you have plenty of options to choose from. Springdale, Utah, located just outside of Zion’s South Entrance, is home to a number of hotels, resorts, motels—and beautiful vacation rentals. Choosing Zion vacation rentals means enjoying a variety of perks, from more space to great amenities.
Ready to start planning your next adventure? Keep reading to learn a few tips for choosing the best vacation rentals for your stay!
1. Give Yourself Plenty of Space
One of the biggest drawbacks of booking a hotel room is the lack of space. Even if you book a suite, your family will likely be confined to one room, with perhaps a small couch to sit and relax on at the end of a long day. Want to enjoy a family movie night as you give your feet a break after a challenging hike? Or maybe enjoy a quick breakfast in your room to save time and money? You’ll be left sitting on the bed or crowding around a tiny sofa.
But booking Zion vacation rentals means enjoying plenty of space for your whole family. The Bungalows at Zion has both one- and two-story private units. Each private Bungalow can sleep up to four guests at a time, while also offering plenty of shared living space perfect for relaxing. Each vacation rental at our Zion resort has a separate living room with a couch, TV, dining area, workspace, and kitchenette. Our two-story units feature a separate living area upstairs in the loft, with a sofa bed, half bathroom, and another workspace.
Whether your family wants to enjoy some time together or enjoy a little privacy after a long day of fun, you’ll have plenty of space in your Bungalow.
2. Pick Your Location
A weekend staying in at one of our luxurious Bungalows can be a great chance to relax and unwind. But you’re likely planning to visit some of Southern Utah’s famous parks and other attractions during your trip, too. Before you book just any Zion vacation rentals, don’t forget to check the location.
One of the biggest challenges of visiting Zion is the crowds and traffic that descend on Springdale during the height of the summer and around popular holiday weekends. During these times, finding parking in Springdale or in Zion can be next to impossible. But booking the right Springdale resort is the solution.
The Bungalows at Zion are conveniently located just a short walk from not one, but two stops on the Springdale Shuttle line. This means that you can leave your car parked at your private Bungalow, and walk to either Shuttle Stop 6 or 7. From there, ride the Springdale Shuttle to the entrance to Zion (or stop somewhere along the way for shopping, food, or to stroll an art gallery or two). You’ll walk through the entrance to Zion, pay your entrance fee, and then get in line for the Zion Canyon Shuttle. This shuttle line will take you to a variety of stops in the Lower Canyon, where you’ll find the park’s most popular overlooks, trails, and other attractions.
Choose to stay in vacation rentals outside of downtown Springdale, and you’ll wind up spending a chunk of your vacation sitting in traffic or driving through town in search of an open parking spot.
3. Consider the Amenities
Want to be able to whip up a quick breakfast or a late-night snack? Need to get some work done during your vacation? Are you someone who needs a cup of coffee in the morning to get your day started?
Checking the amenities before booking your Zion vacation rental can help ensure that you have everything that you need during your visit. While having a coffee maker or high-speed internet might seem like small details, they can wind up having a big impact on your day during your trip.
4. Check the Check-in Process
There are plenty of amenities that help make vacation rentals the clear choice over hotels and Zion resorts. But if you’re not careful, there’s one big detail that can make vacation rentals a poor choice.
If you’re booking a privately managed vacation rental through a site like Airbnb or VRBO, you may wind up finding that you’ll need to meet with your host to get access to your site or to report an issue. If you arrive late, find that you have an issue, and need help late at night, or if your host is tough to contact, this can derail your trip. Booking a hotel does mean having a front desk to speak to. But booking the right vacation rental can mean enjoying the best of both worlds.
At The Bungalows at Zion, all of our private units enjoy easy, no-contact check-in. No having to meet with a host or even go to the front desk. You’ll be able to head straight to your unit and use the provided code to get in your door. And if you have any problems during your stay, we’re just a quick phone call away—no need to make your way to a lobby in your pajamas!
5. Look for Flexible Cancellation Policies
While the travel restrictions of COVID-19 are largely behind us, if there’s one thing the past few years have taught us, it’s about the importance of flexible bookings. Whether you’re planning a last-minute weekend getaway or you’ve been looking forward to your trip for months, at The Bungalows, our flexible cancellation policy lets you plan your trip with less stress. If your plans change, you can cancel your reservation free of charge up to 3 days before your scheduled check-in.
